In the scene above, John, crafty butler, has just convinced Vincent, a young law student on summer vacation, that he should marry the beautiful daughter of the rich family the butler works for. If the project is successful, John will get ten percent of the take. Vincent was reluctant to go along, but is also slightly drunk.

REVIEW Fantastic Reviewer: Hugh Moore (California) This movie is classic! Trust me when I say the entire family will love The Little Greenie. The plot kept me on end. The characters were extremely intiguing. Hollywood would be a much better place if they made movies like this. All I can hope for is a sequel! I hope these filmakers continue to make movies the entire family can watch.

| If you like movies, especially older movies, you've probably seen "The Philadelphia Story" and "Sabrina". They were made years ago but they still appear on some tv channels every once in awhile. If you liked these movies, then you will probably like "The Little Greenie". While "The Little Greenie" was produced for far less money than the other two, it nevertheless has the same high-comedy style and the contest between the rich and the much less rich. In "Sabrina" the butler of the rich family is the father of the beautiful girl who is enamored of the rich family's son (Harrison Ford in the remake of "Sabrina Fair"). In "The Little Greenie" the butler of the rich family is the instigator of a scheme to marry off the daughter of the rich family. In "The Philadelphia Story" the beautiful daughter (Kathryn Hepburn) of the rich family is about to marry her wealthy betrothed when a magazine reporter (Jimmy Stewart) is dragged into the picture by the girls's ex-husband (Cary Grant). In "The Little Greenie" the beautiful daughter (Donna Porter) of the family is leaning toward marriage to her wealthy suitor when a young law student (Michael Esposito) accidentally (courtesy of the butler) appears on the scene. The connection between these three movies is their light touch and their romantic high comedy style. They are all comedies but they're all different. |
